Dog walking at Rough Tor

Roughtor is a well known walker location at the start of Bodmin Moor. If you park at the car park you can set off over an old stone bridge that crosses an early stage of the River Camel and begin your stroll up the long hill that is Rough Tor.

There are lots of livestock on this part of the moors so be careful of that. Once at the top of Rough Tor you’ll find giant boulders in fascinating positions that kids love to explore and if you find your way to the top of the rocks there is a memorial plaque in memory of those who lost their lives while serving in 43rd Wessex Division, 1944/45.

I don’t often come here for daycare or dog walking as the livestock would mean having to keep the dogs on the lead however, I do come here on weekends to enjoy the fantastic views of North Cornwall.
